CLASE No. 5 y 6    ( 05 DE MAYO DE 2020).

WHAT TIME IS IT?  (Qué hora es?)

1.-  La Hora en punto:       (  ‘O’clock)

Para referirnos a la hora en punto solamente debemos decir It’s +  la hora que es + expresión o’clock.      Por ejemplo. 

        2:00 It’s two o’clock,           5:00   It’s five o’clock        9:00     It’s nine o’clock.

OJO:

Existen dos términos para referirnos a las 12, bien sean del mediodía o media noche.

§  Twelve noon o simplemente noon.

§  Twelve midnight o simplemente midnight.

  

EJERCICIO: escribe los números que faltan (de 1 a 12) y al frente les escribes la hora. Recuerda usar al final la palabra o´clock.    Veamos…

2.- La hora y Media    – Half Past

Cuando queremos decir  que es una hora y media debemos decir It’s + la expresión half past + la hora que es.

Por ejemplo, 1:30 -It’s half past one,  7:30 - It’s half past seven  11:30 It’s half past eleven.

EJERCICIO: escribe otras horas de esta forma, por ejemplo:

   It’s + THIRTY MINUTES AFTER + la hora que es.   Ejemplos:

3.- La hora y Cuarto – Quarter Past

Para hablar de una hora y cuarto, decimos It’s + la expresión quarter past + la hora que es.

 Por ejemplo. 

                     12:15  It’s quarter past twelve,      3:15  It’s quarter past three

                      2:15    It’s quarter past two.         11:15 It’s quarter past eleven

4.- La Hora:  “Un Cuarto para …”     –   Quarter To

Se forma con It’s + la expresión quarter to + la hora de referencia ( aquella para la que falta un cuarto de hora).   Por ejemplo. 

12:45- It’s quarter to one ,      2:45. It’s quarter to three    1:45- It’s quarter to two.

NOTA: Cuando escribamos la hora en inglés hay que recordar que hay que señalar si se trata de la mañana o de la tarde si se presta para confusiones; esto se hace añadiendo a.m. o p.m. al final. Por ejemplo: The meeting is at 7:00 p.m. (la reunión es a las 7:00 p.m.)

I'm picking you up at 6:00 am (Te recojo a las 6:00 a.m.).

    TO BE VERB (SER o ESTAR)   PRESENTE TENSE

El verbo To Be es el verbo más importante del idioma inglés, como sea que es utilizado para designar cosas tan importantes como nuestra identidad y la de otros, nuestros estados de ánimo, sentimientos, dolores, penas y alegrías, asi como para describir a las personas, las cosas, los lugares, nuestras preferencias y desagrados y otras cosas más. Tiene dos (2) significados que se parecen pero no se pueden aplicar al mismo tiempo; SER o ESTAR.

Para empezar recordemos una parte importante para la conjugación del verbo y para el uso en general:

1.- LOS PRONOMBRES PERSONALES.  Los pronombres personales en inglés son también conocidos como pronombres personales sujetos o nominales. Son aquellos que refieren a las personas gramaticales.

                 Son:    I,  You,  He,  she,  It,  We,   They.

                      (Yo,  Tu,   Él     Ella,  _?_,  Nosotros,  Ellos/Ellas.)

PRONUNCIACIÓN:  …I…, You…,  He…,  She… It…, We… They… (You?).
